Why Should You Learn To Play 7-Card Stud?

Here at The Poker Academy, we had the opportunity last year to build an amazing 7-Card Stud course with none other than Jason Somerville, a great mixed-game player and World Series of Poker bracelet winner, we had a lot of discussions around why we should build a course for a game that most of our students will rarely be able to play, outside of some select locations.

What we realized though, and what you should realize, is that 7-Card Stud is a gateway game. Becoming a proficient Stud player is the first step toward becoming a Mixed Game player.

In most of the mixed-games that spread both online, and around the world, there’s at least one variant of Stud, be it Stud hi, Stud hi/lo 8 or better, Stud hi/lo regular, or Stud low, also known as Razz. The rest of the mix might be filled in with draw games or other flop games, but there’s nearly always at least one variant of Stud.

And so, if you you’re going to be a mixed game player, you have to become proficient at 7-Card Stud. Once you learn Stud, you’ll be able to quickly learn the other variants. As an expert in 7-Card Stud, you’ll recognize decision points that come up when you’re playing the other variants, and you’ll be able to adapt to them even if you haven’t seen those specific situations before.

At The Poker Academy, we’re all about achieving Better Results through Better Decisions. And that’s why we feel that 7-Card Stud is a game that all serious poker players should master before they take the plunge into the mixed-game arenas.

To help you get started on your mixed-game journey, we’ve decided to offer our 7-Card Stud course this month for the lowest price we’ll ever offer it. Through the end of August, you can get the entire 7-Card Stud course for just $99.

Four sessions, more than eight hours of instruction, two incredible 7-Card Stud players, and a forum where you can interact with both the instructors and other students, all for just 99 bucks! It’s a great deal, and I hope to see a lot of you taking advantage of it before the end of the month!
