• Lots of technological advances in the news this week. The Montcalm Luxury Hotels' Ami chatbot makes it the first London operator to introduce such a service. Ami anticipates users' intentions and offers sales support by searching and checking availability. It goes a step further by connecting guests with the reservations team by telephone and
sending personalised emails. Customers can use various platforms - including smartphones - to access the chat.
And Lightspeed, the restaurant EPOS company making a big push in to the hotel sector has announced that its product will be the first in the sector to receive Oracle certification.
• The agenda for the 2018 Boutique and Lifestyle Hotel Summit is now live. For next year's event we are making things a little more interactive, with some new sessions formats, and there will be a whole host of fresh faces in tears of speakers. We're in the process of confirming speakers from across the world, both from within in the industry and other sectors. It's going to be something special, and we will be announcing the first wave of speakers next week.
