Meister Mail:'Is play for fun vs real mode identical?'

Word from the Meister - 23 February 2018
Well, happy Friday everyone - and what a week it has been. I finally published the London review - and if you have not taken the time to read this yet, you ought to. There is a load of important info - especially for our cousins down under, affiliates, and any operators still taking Australian bets.

And this week has been productive. I now have the chance to roll up the sleeves and get busy on the forum. Loads to do there - and speaking of the forum - a bit of "egg on the face" for Bitstarz. It was reported this week that it appeared that GameArt slots were playing differently in "fun" mode as opposed to "real money" mode. The forum members sounded the alarm, VideoSlots (who were hosting this game) removed it and contacted the gaming provider: GameArt. Bitstarz, on the other hand, tried to explain what RTP is and that the game was fair. That may be an appropriative response to a forum of newbie players, but we have the best brains in the industry reading and posting in our forum to include game developers and operators. Plus...the game wasn't fair.

Bitstarz again claimed the game's fun and real mode were operating the same - and then we had confirmation from GameArt that this was not true; that it was purposely set up differently.

This is alarming. All game play needs to be identical - play for fun vs real mode. Anything different is deceptive and is candidate for roguedom. If you are a software developer and want players to experience the bonus rounds - just allow players to select the bonus rounds in a dropdown menu - don't crank the RTP to 150% and make it seem that the players are making these wins for real. That is disingenuous, unethical, and should be outlawed. Don't do it.

Anyway - have an awesome weekend, and read on...
