Stations of the Cross brings a fresh perspective to a centuries-old tradition 14 art exhibits highlight the plight of immigrants and refugees
People of all faiths and spiritualities are invited to join a creative, contemplative journey through Manhattan to consider injustice across the human experience.
Stations of the Cross presents a pilgrimage through 14 art stations, from the Met Cloisters to the National September 11 Memorial. Each location presents new art or a fresh perspective on an existing memorial, highlighting the contemporary relevance of the Passion, Jesus’ final hours.
Traditionally, Stations of the Cross evokes empathy with those suffering, as Jesus did, at the hands of injustice. This exhibition focuses on the experience of immigrants and refugees, exploring feelings of despair, exploitation, abandonment and hope.
