Card Player Poker Tour Returns To Choctaw Casino Resort For $1 Million GTD Main Event
This April, the Card Player Poker Tour will return to the beautiful Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, Oklahoma for a 62-event series that culminates with a $1 million guaranteed main event. Click here for the entire schedule with structure sheets.
This is the fifth time that the CPPT has made an appearance at Choctaw Casino, which is a little more than an hour away from the Dallas metropolitan area (and home to some of the best poker action in the country). The games officially begin on April 5, and wraps up with the live-streamed final table of the main event on April 22.
“We are thrilled that Card Player is returning to Choctaw Casino & Resort this spring,” stated Table Games Manager Bob Barnes. “The tournament always brings in a great group of players. The last time the tour stopped at the resort approximately 700 people played in the tournament. We expect another big crowd again this year.”
A huge turnout is likely, as evidenced by the $1 million main event guarantee. In addition, there are three other preliminary events offering another $350,000 in guarantees at low buy-ins.
The series kicks off April 5 with the $200+$40 buy-in no-limit hold’em monster stack event, which has two starting flights and a $50,000 guarantee. On April 6 and 7, players can take part in a $100+$25 multi cash no-limit hold’em tournament with six total starting flights and a $100,000 guarantee. The cash up for grabs is then doubled the following weekend on April 13 and 14 for the $200+$40 multi cash no-limit hold’em event with a $200,000 guarantee. Other events on the schedule include pot-limit Omaha, H.O.R.S.E., 2-7 triple draw, badugi and variations on no-limit hold’em like seniors, ladies, turbo, win-the-button, six-max, congress, team and bounty tournaments.
The $1,000+$100 main event features two starting flights, beginning noon on April 20 and 21. Players will begin with 20,000 in starting chips and enjoy generous 40-minute blind levels. Any player who is eliminated before registration closes may re-enter. Of course, with a hefty $1 million guarantee, a large field is needed to avoid an overlay, which is why Choctaw has packed the schedule chock-full of super and mega satellites.
Those looking to win their way into the $1,000 main event ($1 Million GTD) at a discount can do so (beginning April 5) for as little as $50+$15 with a number of super and mega satellites on the schedule.
