The Evolving American Road Trip + Hotel CEOs Warm To Homesharing + Mexico Tourism Addresses Violence

May 22, 2018

Editor's Note

At Skift, we make it a point to look at what we do every day through a global lens. But sometimes a travel story comes along that is so quintessentially American that we break our own rule.Today, we launch the first of a three-part series, The Future of American Road Trips, written by Assistant Editor Sarah Enelow-Snyder.

Enelow-Snyder spent months working on this project, in between her other duties here. We are happy to bring it to you ahead of the Memorial Day weekend as so many of us look forward to summer. The series is an important travel business story, highlighting consumer spending, evolving brands, and huge technological change, but it's also a critical look at where we are culturally in this country. The open road has served as a timeless metaphor for so many generations with wanderlust. We hope you get lost in Enelow-Snyder's reporting and storytelling.
