At Skift, we make it a point to look at what we do every day through a global lens. But sometimes a travel story comes along that is so quintessentially American that we break our own rule.Today, we launch the first of a three-part series, The Future of American Road Trips, written by Assistant Editor Sarah Enelow-Snyder.

Enelow-Snyder spent months working on this project, in between her other duties here. We are happy to bring it to you ahead of the Memorial Day weekend as so many of us look forward to summer.
