Popular destinations are looking at ways of managing the flow of people and those just starting out on the road to tourism are trying not to make the same mistakes. But it's important to remember in all of this that every place is different. For every Venice there's an Isle of Skye: Both have overtourism problems but the causes and potential solutions are very different.
Lisbon has its own set of issues. Rising rents together with a booming tourism industry have led to tension between those who llive there and those who are visiting.
