| | Dear Reader,
Well, here I am after my summer break - actually the first real break I've had in over two years. A break where I didn't read any emails or check out the site for a full two weeks. Yep, chillin' at a beach in the Dominican Republic drinking watered-down beverages and their local watered-down beer. It was a nice break though. I got some reading done: Time Travel by James Gleick (thanks to Max - thanks Max!), and my photography and astronomy magazines as well.
What was cool was that I had dark skies above - not so polluted with light - and I was able to get some nice shots of the sky with my Nikon. Mars is now passing Earth (or we passing them) the closest it's been to Earth since 2003. Right now it is shining brighter than Jupiter, and it should be easily spotted in the South Eastern sky at night (depending on your location on the globe). Its ruddy orange easily discernable from any other celestial object.
Speaking of ruddy colors, a full eclipse of the moon is happening tonight - you'll see it at moonrise - well, those of us in Europe, Africa, and the Antarctic will see it. It's being called the "blood moon" because the Earth will block the sun's light 100% for the most part, and it will take on dark brownish red. North and South America can sit this one out. You'll just see an ordinary full moon. :)
Seems like I'm still on vacation, right? Anyway, news at Casinomeister: Daniel has left Videoslots. This is a sad moment since he has been an integral part of the CM VS relationship.
