The Independent Hotel Show is always an enjoyable and thought-provoking gathering. I've been impressed by the way its organisers have grown the show considerably while keeping the atmosphere nice and indie!
At BHN we're delighted to be a media partner for the event again this year. As well as a host of suppliers under one roof, the theatre seminar sessions are always worth attending and this year looks like it will be no exception.
I'm particularly intrigued by the hotel room of the future installation and discussion, especially when it comes to how much technology is right for a room. I have certainly been in some hotels where the owners have splashed the cash on technology that will either become quickly obsolete or is too technical for me to operate properly, with a negative effect on my guest experience!
Of course there is no right answer as each property is different, and predicting the future is notoriously difficult, even in an industry as relatively straightforward as ours. But sessions like these are designed to get people talking and stimulate ideas - and that is undoubtedly what will be happening at the Independent Hotel Show next month.
