Women's Surf Championships - October 4 to 6 Celebrating 10 years of big waves and girl-power, the annual Queen of The Peak Women’s Surf Championships ride again October 4 to 6, right here in Cox Bay. Whether you are a seasoned rider, learning to surf, or an enthusiastic fan, come watch these amazing women (and “Princesses” under 16) compete in longboard and shortboard events, complete with music and fun beach festivities. RESORT TEAM SPOTLIGHT MEET MARICRIS Congratulations to Maricris Martin, voted Five Star Employee of the Month. Joining us a year ago from Bulacan, Philippines through our foreign worker program, Maricris has been a great addition to the team, including a recent promotion. "She is willing to tackle any job, duty, even overtime without question, and does it with a smile," declared Cathy Neufeld, our Housekeeping Manager. The ever-so-humble Maricris loves Tofino and wants to take this opportunity to thank Pacific Sands for giving her the chance to call Canada home. (Awww... group hug!)
