Larry Flynt’s Grand Slam of Poker is bringing more than $600,000 in guarantees to Southern California this summer.
The series runs from July 14-29 at the HUSTLER Casino in Los Angeles and kicks off with a $175 no-limit hold’em event. It features eight starting flights and a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool. For the first four days of the series, there will be a starting flight at noon and an evening flight at 5 p.m.
Players will start with 30,000 in tournament chips and each starting flight will play down to the top 12 percent of the field. Those who survive their starting flight will return on July 18 at 2 p.m. for Day 2, where the survivors will combine to one field and will play down to a winner.
Players who make it thorough their flight and guarantee themselves a spot in the Day 2 field can try their luck in another flight. Multiple qualifiers for Event 1 will receive $1,000 for each subsequent time they make it through a Day 1. They will take their best stack into Day 2. Chip leaders from each flight will earn a $500 bonus.
The series’ main event is a $375 no-limit hold’em Quantum tournament that features a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool and 20,000 in tournament chips. There are 14 starting flights running from 7/19-7/27. The top 10 percent of those starting flights will advance to Day 2 on 7/28.
If a player doesn’t make it through their starting flight, they have the option to buy into Day 2 directly for $2,700 and receive 200,000 in tournament chips. The tournament will play to a winner on 7/29.
Each player that qualifies for Day 2 more than once will receive $2,500 for each additional starting flight survived. They will take their best stack forward into Day 2. The chip leader from each flight will get a $1,000 bonus.
The chip leader bonuses are added to the prize pool by the casino and will not be taken out of the prize pool. A total of $18,000 will be added by the casino. For more information on the series, check out the Hustler Casino website.
