• At a fascinating time for the UK in general, the Boutique Hotel News team will be out in force next week attending the British Hospitality Association's 2017 Hospitality and Tourism Summit in London. Unsurprisingly in the current climate - with a general election two days later and the shadow of Brexit uncertainty hanging over the industry - much of the agenda is dominated by politics. There will be keynote addresses by broadcaster and politics journalist Steve Richards, and former shadow chancellor (and Strictly Come Dancing contestant!) Ed Balls.
There will also be debates and panel discussions on a wide range of subjects affecting the boutique hotel sector and the wider travel industry, including distribution, personalisation, recruitment, F&B, branding and air travel.
BHN publisher Piers Brown will be hosting two sessions discussing serviced apartments, aparthotels and extended stay hotels. If you're attending the Summit and would like to meet him, myself or our other team members Katie Houghton (sales) and Lavinia Rusu (marketing) please email info@boutiquehotelnews.com. Click here to see the agenda for the BHA Summit.
• On a separate note, we'd like to hear from hoteliers with experience of listing rooms on Airbnb and similar for a future article on Boutique Hotel News. If you'd like to contribute, please email george@boutiquehotelnews.com.
