| | | | | Season's greetings!
• As 2017 draws to an end and most of us take some time to celebrate the festive season with our families, it's also a time for both reflection and looking forward.
It's been an eventful year for sure, in global geopolitical terms, and in our industry, where we have seen an enormous array of great hotels opening and brands launching, the big hotel chains step up their presence in the boutique and lifestyle sector, particularly in the soft brand market, and of course the continued onward march of Airbnb.
From a Boutique Hotel News perspective it has been a pleasure to keep you up to speed with industry developments, and to meet many of you at the various industry events we support.
We have been busy for the last couple of months working to ensure that the 2018 Boutique and Lifestyle Hotel Summit will be the best yet, with more intrusive sessions and an amazing roster of international speakers. Watch out for announcements in the new year.
And talking of 2018, our reporter Martha Elwell has chosen 10 industry figures she expects to make the headlines over the coming 12 months.
This is the last BHN newsletter of the year, and I'd like to take the opportunity to wish all our readers a wonderful holiday break and a happy new year - see you in 2018!
