Do you hear that sound? It's the sound of Spring - it's right around the corner - I heard some birds chirping just yesterday. They were probably celebrating the fact that our temperatures went from -12 to +12 in a few days time.
Another thing that is right around the corner are a load of Rogue Casinos. Just recently, it seems that a number of UKGC licensed casinos are reinstating a dangerously rogue term in their terms and conditions. They are stating that winners of progressive jackpots will be paid between 10K to 20K per month. This is not normal jackpots, but progressive jackpots - the funds for these jackpots come straight from the software provider and not from the casino. You may not think it's no big deal if you win 20K - but there have been winners of millions who are forced to be paid out over decades. This has happened before - it happened to a Canadian player who forfeited half of her $4.1 million jackpot to Joyland Casino because they had a self-imposed $9k a month withdrawal limit. That casino took nearly $2 million from her - money that never belonged to him in the first place, because she didn't want to wait 39 years to be paid out.
This was a Playtech casino, and Playtech did nothing because she agreed to those terms. And what happened to those funds? Well, I'll betcha they didn't go back into the Playtech progressive pool.
READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS! Just because a casino is licensed in the UK does not mean it is safe. Sportingbet, bwin, bcasino, are all in the rogue pit because of this term. And there are more out there - I can't keep up with them.
The bottom line is - play smart, there is no one out there that can better protect yourself but you.
