It will be Darcy Brereton's State Team debut. What can we expect from him? I've gotten to know Darcy pretty well over the last couple of years, he's an incredibly hard worker and he's driven to improve his golf. He's come along really well with a couple of good results to start the year. I think he'll be a really valuable asset to our team and I think he's really looking forward to the week. He's been chipping away over the last couple of months working towards the week so it will be good to see how he goes. Do you prepare any differently for the Interstate Series because it's all match play as opposed to a regular stroke event? We've had a couple of designated state trainings over the last few weeks and done a few different things, like putting pressure on putting. Just to put a bit of pressure on different parts of your game because when it comes to an Interstate Series there's a lot of pressure shots. I think when you're around the team in those state trainings you want to perform really well, obviously the coaches are watching so to show them what sort of form you're in, you want to play well. The boys will play The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide throughout the week - are you familiar with the course? I played the Aussie Amateur there back in 2014, it was actually the hottest day on Earth in Adelaide when we played there. It was 47 degrees. So, fond memories. I've played a fair bit there and it's a pretty cool venue and a good match play course so it'll be great fun. As captain in 2017 you came up against the best amateurs in the country every round - how does your form compare coming into this year's Interstate Series? Obviously last year was a bit of a disappointment personally. I was talking to one of the coaches last night and I said to him 'that was probably my worst week of the year'. I just wasn't swinging that well, I think I just put a bit too much pressure on myself playing at number one. I know I can compete against Min Woo Lee, Trav Smyth and Shae Wools-Cobb. It just came down to me not freeing up. I'd imagine Micha [Dave Micheluzzi] will probably play number one this year but I think it just comes down to me being in better form and being a bit more mature. I started this year the best I have with low amateur at the Oates Vic Open and a couple of good results at the Master of the Amateurs and Riversdale Cup. I just want to do what I can for the team captaincy-wise and then when it comes to individual stuff, just try to get a point for the team every match. There will be a lot of good matches out there this year I think, there's a lot of good players and we're all up for it.
