| | | | Seize the opportunities
• The BHN team had an enjoyable and educational time at Sleep + Eat last week, in its new venue (London's Olympia) and with the added F&B emphasis on the agenda.
It was great to speak with Sydell Group president and co-founder Jeremy Selman while there, about topics ranging from the hugely ambitious The Ned project, to his plans to roll out the Freehand brand to the UK.
It was striking that the prospect of Brexit is not deterring Sydell from looking at various projects in London. Despite all the doom, gloom and self-flagellation we are administering here in the UK, we need to remember that whichever way Brexit pans out, the world will keep turning and the UK - and especially London - is always going to be a desirable destination for travellers, and therefore hospitality companies too.
While the situation is unnerving we have to get our heads down and get on with things - seeing opportunities in adversity is a great strength in business, and our sector must be poised to make the most of those opportunities.
