An information night will be held for Members on Wednesday 17th January to discuss the Course Improvement Plan. Attending on the night will be Richard Chamberlain, golf course architect to discuss the plan. The evening will commence at 7.00pm in the Seaview Room.
The Club has recently installed a series of historical photos from the archives in the hallway between the locker rooms and the Pro Shop, the area will also include printed honourboard shortly to recognise past major club event winners.
Plans to renovate parts of the Clubhouse are pressing ahead with likely start in late February 2018. Bannister Building was the successful tender. The works will include a new main bar, floorings and furnishings.
Members with
Disabled Parking permits are requested not to use the disabled parking bays when attending the club to play golf. Ideally the spots are used by those with permits who are not able to walk and play golf but for those who really need them to access the club without a lengthy walk, i.e. walking frames etc.
The pro shop will shortly be
issuing green fee paying players with coloured tags to be attached to buggies. Members when paying the $5 fee will be issued the tag as well to help identify paid players.
After 20 years of solid service
Air Con unit 1 has ended its working life. Whilst a patch is in place a new unit will be about 8 weeks away. In the meantime keep fluids up.

All members who play early are requested to
wait until the scheduled tee off time before starting the round. Course Maintenance staff plan the day around the first booked time and even starting a few minutes early can mean disruptions to greens or fairway mowing. There has been a growing number of members impatiently hitting up on course staff after starting their rounds earlier than scheduled. All members are reminded that course staff have right of way on the course.
Professional Shop & Golf Ladies First. Over recent weeks the agreement which was in place between the Port Macquarie Pro Shop and Golf Ladies First has come to an end. The following is in regards to the current situation.
There was an agreement in place between GLF and James Single in regards to re-assigning the provision of ladies equipment and tuition. Following a period of dispute, Golf Ladies First and James Single came to a mutual agreement on 8
th December to end in confidence this agreement.
A number of members and Chantale's students have enquired about whether her teaching and programs are to continue at the Club. Currently booked lessons are able to be completed, beyond that the Club has in place a contract with James Single which stipulates "The Club grants the Golf Professional exclusive rights to provide the Services in the Club", therefore we are not in a position to impose teaching professionals or programs without breaching the contract the Club has in place with James Single.
The contract in place (Club and Golf Professional) is similar to that for the Caterer where the Club could not open a second restaurant in the Club.
It is not disputed that GLF were an excellent contributor to ladies programs and retail during their time under agreement with the Pro Shop at the Club. Since the 8th December we have had no approach from either party to revisit the termination agreement.
The Club is encouraging an outcome that would be of most benefit to the existing and potential membership.
